Engage your students and work together to build a library of wonder. Explore remarkable technology tools that enhance instruction and student curiosity. Participate in practical and research based station learning. Share successes in nurturing a library of wonder for students.

D2: Cultivating Curiosity through Instructional Coaching Birth - Grade 12 | Empire B
This session is designed to share how the Mount Union Area School District Literacy Coaches promote literacy Birth – Grade12 through a variety of activities and events. Forming a partnership with parents, Pre-K/Head Start, community members and alumni, we emphasize the importance of literacy district-wide. Participants will leave this session with ideas to engage students in reading and ways to form partnerships with the community.

D3: An Author's Approach to Inquiry Based Learning | Empire D
A.B. Westrick, author of the award-winning historical novel BROTHERHOOD, will lead a mini-writing workshop that's easy for educators to adapt for use with any historical book (fiction or nonfiction). Participants will come away surprised with the quantity and quality of thier own writing, while gleaning insights about inquire based learning. Attendees will gain the tools necessary to lead dynamic collaborative units (social students/language arts) in their own schools. Session includes book giveaway.

D4: One District, One Book in the Elementary School Setting | Empire A
Since 2011, school librarians have played a key role in the promotion of South Western School District’s One District, One Book program. All four elementary schools participate in this home/school partnership where every family receives a personal copy of a common title to read at home. Connections are made in school through contests and activities. At this interactive presentation, librarians, an administrator and a district parent will share this annual journey with those wishing to embark for the first time with district wide programming; network to share ideas from those with experience; and celebrate how one book can create a culture of curiosity among children.

D5: Creating a Manageable Makerspace! | Wild Rose AB
Would you like to create a makerspace in your library, but feel overwhelmed by some of the ideas posted online by over zealous librarians? This session will help you create a manageable makerspace, by keeping ideas simple and accessible to all students. Create a makerspace that combines toys with a task, and defines play with purpose. The Dallastown Area Intermediate School Library's Innovation Station will be showcased, and help you create a similar, feasible makerspace in your library.

Perhaps you know your library’s vision and mission, but how are you communicating that? Odds are, they aren’t reading your Word document. Take those core values and visualize them by creating and sharing your library brand. Your library brand tells a story and you want to make it memorable! This session will explore the why and the how of library branding and show specific tools and examples used to communicate your story.
